Essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the nature of Russification, Russian elitism, and Russian kleptocracy pervasive during the Soviet occupation, and the still lingering Soviet-created legacy of moral turpitude.
  13. HAZNERS, VILIS VOL. 2_0013 (2 March 1961)Free Europe Committee, cover for copies of reports on 1955 Latvian youth congress in Germany, not attached. Of interest is the (American management mis-)characterization of Daugavas Vanagi as "militant" and an organization of veterans "fighting on the German side during WW II" with no caveat of "against Soviet re-occupation". Initialled by FEC Vice President, Robert Minton.
  14. HAZNERS, VILIS VOL. 2_0014 (8 March 1961)"Structure of Latvian Central Organizations and their Relations with Other Groups", more bad news for the conspiracy theorists: "1. The Free Europe Committee (FEC) has never issued guidelines for the work of national committees, considering them independent bodies. The only request made to all national committees is to report on their activities to the FEC on a monthly basis."
